As the lead guitarist for Korn, Shaffer has been playing Ibanez guitars for the majority of his career. The 7-string APEX30 has the features that Shaffer has tested over and over and honed to his tonal vision. With a nyatoh body and maple top, the APEX30 is light and resonant. The 3-piece maple Wizard II-7 neck and ebony fingerboard offer incredible response and feel — ideal for fast riffs and heavy power chords. And with a pair of DiMarzio Blaze humbuckers in the neck and bridge, the APEX30 is wired for heavy, expansive, and expressive tone.
The Ibanez Munky APEX30-MGM Metallic Gray Matte is a 7-string electric guitar perfectly tuned to the lowered nu-metal sound of the Korn guitarist. Based on the sleek RGA design , this electric guitar features a Nyatoh body with a curved maple top , while the easy-to-play "Wizard II-7" bolt-on neck is made of maple . With its modern mid-scoop , two DiMarzio Blaze humbuckers provide extremely powerful 7-string sounds that make every note sound clearly defined even at high distortion. Last but not least, the innovative Evertune Bridge with its clever spring mechanism ensures that the Ibanez Munky APEX30-MGM Metallic Gray Matte is always tuned accurately.
