The Marshall 2040 Artiste was made in 1976 in England! It is a vintage tube guitar amplifier that offers rich, warm tones and classic Marshall sound. This amp is part of Marshall's Artist series, which features high-quality amplifiers built for professional musicians. The amp is in excellent working order. Artistes were produced from 1971-1978 and are not common, especially these hand-wired models. They're not a typical Marshall – more Fender-ish in sound, but with huge amounts of grunt and great break-up. Like instant 'The Who' - Won't Get Fooled Again' order now!

The 2040 Artiste has a 2-channel design, with both channels offering independent volume and tone controls. The first channel is a clean channel, which produces a warm, clear tone that is ideal for playing clean or slightly overdriven sounds. The second channel is a lead channel, which offers more gain and distortion for playing heavier, more aggressive tones. The amp also features a built-in reverb, which adds depth and dimension to your sound.

The 2040 Artiste is built with high-quality components, including four 6L6GC power tubes and four ECC83 preamp tubes, which provide plenty of power and dynamic range. The amp has a power output of 50 watts, making it a suitable choice for both live performance and studio recording.

The amp features a classic Marshall design, with a black vinyl covering, gold control panel, and a signature Marshall logo on the front. the tolex has a few nicks and knocks and the footswitch has been lost by a previous owner

Overall, the Marshall 2040 Artiste is a high-quality tube amplifier that offers classic Marshall sound and vintage style. Whether you're a professional musician or a serious hobbyist, the 2040 Artiste is a versatile and reliable choice for any playing style or genre.
