The Excel SS combines semi-hollow resonance with gritty Seymour Duncan HH tone. Naturally, it features D’Angelico’s unique headstock design, gold hardware and Mother of Pearl block inlays - every bit as luxurious as you’d expect.

This single-cut semi-hollow features a Laminated Flame Maple body (back, sides and top) with 5-ply binding. This offers a bright, clear response that’ll ensure your guitar is heard, no matter what style. The multi-piece neck employs a strip of Walnut sandwiched between solid Maple. This adds yet more midrange/top-end brightness to the humbucker sound, great for clarity in your lead playing.

Twin USA Seymour Duncan 59 humbuckers deliver a warm but gutsy snarl. But thanks to the tonewood choices and coil-tap controls, the Excel SS is no one-trick pony. It’ll clean up beautifully, just as suited to jazz and funk as it is to alt-rock. The hardware is where some of this instrument’s true character shines through.
