The Excel DC is a curvy double-cut semi-hollow that offers solid humbucking tones. The body material is Flame Maple, offering plenty of top-end brightness to contrast with the warm hollow sound. 5-ply binding rounds it off with a touch of class. The multi-piece neck employs a strip of Walnut sandwiched between solid Maple. This adds yet more midrange/top-end brightness to the humbucker sound, great for lead playing clarity and contemporary styles.

As mentioned before, twin USA Seymour Duncan 59 humbuckers deliver a warm but gutsy snarl. But thanks to the tonewood choices and coil-tap controls, the Excel DC is no one-trick pony. It’ll clean up beautifully, just as suited to jazz as it is to alt-rock. The hardware is where some of this instrument’s true character shines through. Luxuriously adorned with gold hardware, including Grover Super Rotomatic tuners, it’s an undeniably striking instrument.
