Clyde McCoy was a big-band Trumpet Player in the '60s... not a great musician, but one famous for getting a muted "wah wah" sound. This led to Vox trying to approximate this muted trumpet sound in a pedal... hence the Vox "Clyde McCoy" wah wah circa 1967. The Fulltone "CLYDE" was born from taking the best of the best of Michael Fuller's more than 25 piece vintage Vox wah collection. Using all the best components (even sacrificing some vintage inductors) he made the very best sounding vintage Vox replica wah that is in the picture right now. Order now!

CLYDE Standard wahs sport the most authentic '60's Vox type inductor available, which also happens to be the quietest. Fulltone's hand-wound MU-80 (80% nickel alloy) shielded Fulltone 500mH inductor. And, of course, the long-live Fulltone-1 wah pot.

The Potentiometer, the most overlooked part of the circuit, is one of the keys to a good wah wah sound. There hasn't been a proper "tapered" pot since the '60's "Icar" in any major manufacturer's wah. This is one of the reasons the '70s, '80s, and '90s wahs are so mediocre. Fulltone have made our own they call the Fullrange pot. It has a double screened carbon composition track giving a 500,000 turn life span instead of the standard industry 15,000. Fulltone decided to design a housing that give you more travel and potentiometer range than the original Vox-type housings. That way the housing itself won't limit your tonal sweep or compensate the tension or feel that Fulltone feel like that Vox housings do.

The Clyde has a standard 2.1mm negative center-pin AC adapter port with anti-hum filtering and protection diode.
