The Colosseum is a dual overdrive pedal by Cornerstone, offering a reinterpretation of the Blues Breaker and Klon circuits. With the Colosseum, the Italian family company has created a powerful overdrive pedal packed with great features—both overdrives can be used independently within an effects chain or amp loop via an effects loop. As a dual overdrive, the heart of the Colosseum consists of two distinct circuits: the right side is modeled after the legendary Blues Breaker, while the left circuit is based on the popular Klon Centaur overdrive.

Cornerstone Colosseum: Features in Detail

While both sides of the Colosseum feature the standard volume, tone, and gain controls, Cornerstone has added an extra control to each circuit. The clean control allows blending of the clean signal into the BB circuit, offering a wide range of tonal flexibility. On the left, the K circuit comes with its own clip control, enabling users to adjust or mix the clipping behavior between a silicon and germanium diode. This allows for unique overdrive sounds that can be tailored to personal preferences.

Additionally, the Colosseum features a separate effects loop for each overdrive, allowing both effects to be integrated independently into the effects chain of a pedalboard or amp. A central toggle switch lets you choose the internal order of the two circuits (K-BB or BB-K). Overall, the Colosseum offers flexible control options, and its effects loop adds convenience for pedalboard setups.
