The American Professional II series combines the best of classic Fender electric guitar design with modern features and design solutions. Instruments in this series are therefore the ideal choice for musicians who appreciate playing characteristics and performance that meet today's demands more than the authentic look of the originals and the "aged" finish of the guitars.
The alder body of this Stratocaster is covered in a gloss polyurethane lacquer. The maple neck with its "deep C" profile (a cross between modern C and U) fits perfectly in your hand, whether you're playing fast solos or chords. Twenty-two narrow tall frets and white position dots divide the rosewood fingerboard. The rounded edges of the fingerboard and the new shape of the neck foot ensure easy and comfortable playing across the entire surface of the fingerboard.
At the heart of every guitar are the pickups. In the case of this model, it's a pair of V-Mod single-coil pickups, which deliver a wonderfully articulate sound while retaining a classic Strat feel, and a Double Tap humbucker, whose full throaty tone is transforms at the touch of a button (S1 switch on volume pot) into the pure sound of a single coil, while maintaining the same volume level. The character of the sound can be shaped using the volume control, two tone controls and a five-position pickup switch. The treble bleed circuit ensures consistent tone quality without accentuating the bass when the volume knob is turned down.
The strings are anchored in the company's machine heads (Standard Cast/Sealed Staggered) and the tremolo synchronized with steel saddles and two-point fixing.
The guitar is supplied in a molded case.
