Richwood's Auditorium model is elegantly shaped, with a deeper body that produces a warmer tone, making it ideal not only for fingerstyle players but also satisfying for flatpickers. The smaller surface area of the top facilitates easier motion, responding quicker than larger surface tops, which is key to its suitability for fingerstyle playing. The sound is impressively full, detailed, and dynamic. The high-quality tonewoods and extra care in building the 70-series guitars result in a superior instrument. The rosewood sides and back contribute to the sonorous and bold low end, while the high frequencies are thicker and clearer. The overall volume is louder, and the sound details are more discernible than with a mahogany guitar.

Advanced technical and aesthetic features include bone fittings, a double-action truss rod, a voluted headstock joint, cotton-capped X-braces, mahogany back braces, high-grade Derjung machine heads, and USA D'Addario EXP16 coated phosphor bronze strings.
