Johnny Cash's favorite Martin guitar, among the many he played, was a custom-made D-35—the first Martin guitar to feature a polished black finish, perfectly suited for "The Man in Black." Cash used this iconic guitar on stage for nearly 20 years. In tribute to the legendary musician, Martin has released the D-35 Johnny Cash Commemorative, a close replica of that special instrument.
