This 1962 Cherry Red, fully original and immaculate ES-335 serial 86284 stands as a pinnacle of vintage electric guitar craftsmanship, revered for its iconic design and unparalleled tonal versatility. Crafted by Gibson, this semi-hollow body guitar features a maple/poplar/maple top, back, and sides, paired with a sleek slim taper mahogany neck that offers both stability and resonance. Its classic double-cutaway body shape not only exudes timeless elegance but also enhances playability, allowing for effortless access to the upper frets. The color is a very nice, warm Cherry. The original tuners were unusable and were replaced by newer klusons but are included in the case. The mahogany neck has an original rosewood board that was professionally refretted with medium jumbo frets.
The guitar weighs 3,7 kilo’s only and boasts a set of legendary original PAF (Patent Applied For) humbucking pickups, renowned for their rich, warm tones and smooth, creamy overdrive. They measure 8,76 (bridge) and 7,14 (neck) The 1962 model is distinguished by its vibrant Cherry Red finish, meticulously applied with nitrocellulose lacquer, a traditional method prized for its ability to age gracefully, allowing the guitar's tone to mature and develop character over time. Gibson changed the red colored lacquer in 1960 making it more durable and less prone to fading. Hence the color being still as vibrant today as it ever was! The guitar comes with its original case! No cracks, no breaks, no fixes, or repairs. Tuners were replaced with siungle Ring Klusons
