The Nero pedal combines a unique fuzz circuit with a built-in Gladio SC, activating both circuits simultaneously for a stacked drive effect. It features a "Comp" knob that manages compression, altering overall dynamics, and two independent bias controls ("voices") that provide a wide range of fuzz and overdrive tones. Notably, Nero offers flexible gain control, high input impedance for versatility on pedalboards, constant compression adjustment, and smooth transitions between gritty fuzz and full overdrive via a footswitch. It can also produce gated fuzz and excellent cleanup effects under certain conditions.

The Nero includes a "Comp" knob that manages compression by blending the sound from the Fuzz section with the Gladio SC section in parallel, providing fine control over the overall compression.

Switching between voice 1 and voice 2 can also be achieved with an external latching footswitch. This feature is perfect for use with looper switchers or when the pedal isn't easily accessible, such as on multi-level pedalboards.

Often, fuzz pedals are paired with overdrives when using fuzz directly on a slightly dirty amp isn't ideal. The Nero already delivers this functionality, as its Fuzz section is followed by a full Gladio SC, simulating the behavior of a preamp to create a balanced, rounded tone.

Unlike typical fuzz pedals that have low input impedance and must be placed first in the effects chain, the Nero offers a 1 Mega Ohm input impedance, allowing it to be placed anywhere on the pedalboard.
