The xtSA is a versatile instrument, mastering electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and synth sounds. It achieves robust electric tones through its Godin humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration. A unique 5-way switch setup allows for a blend of rich humbucker and clear split-coil sounds. When the electric output is lowered and the volume on the LR Baggs transducer saddles is increased, the xtSA transforms into an impressively authentic acoustic guitar. Its acoustic quality is further enhanced by an onboard preamp with a three-way graphic EQ. The dual outputs allow for a mix of electric and acoustic voices either through a single cable or separately at an amp/mixer.

Furthermore, the xtSA excels in synth tracking, providing top-notch performance. It features a 13-pin connector for direct access to all Roland™ GR-Series synths and most other 13-pin devices.

The playability of the xtSA is as impressive as its sound, with a 25½” scale and a mahogany neck, similar to Godin's flagship LGX-SA model. The Richlite® fingerboard, shaped with Godin’s ergocut technique and medium jumbo frets, ensures comfortable playability. The body consists of a silver leaf maple center with poplar wings, topped with a premium grade, highly figured Koa veneer.
