Bond Electraglide

This Bond Electraglide, serial number not specified, is in like-new condition and comes complete with its original case, power supply, DIN cable, and all original accessories—an increasingly rare find for this ultra-limited and historic instrument. Built in the Scottish Highlands between 1984 and 1986, the Electraglide was decades ahead of its time, combining composite aerospace-grade materials with a radical digital interface and a fretless, stepped fingerboard design that redefined what a guitar could be.

Constructed from carbon fibre–reinforced glass composite, it features an integrated neck-through body design for maximum stability and resistance to environmental changes. Instead of frets, the precision-moulded Electraglide fingerboard offers stepped ridges that allow for perfectly accurate intonation while delivering a playing experience unlike any other. The guitar’s digital controls—volume, tone, and pickup selection—are operated via push buttons with an LED readout and are powered by a proprietary external 18V PSU via DIN connection.

Outfitted with three custom-designed single-coil pickups and weighing in at approximately 4.5–5 kg, this guitar is both an engineering marvel and a bold artistic statement. Famously used by The Edge of U2 and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, it has since earned cult status as one of the most radical and collectible guitars ever made.
