Fresh from NAMM: D'Angelico is developing itself to be a real player in the modern guitar market. The D’Angelico Mark Whitfield Excel SS Soho is a collaboration with the Grammy-winning guitarist. Inspired by his favourite guitars, this hollow-bodied 15″ single-cutaway model has some sweet tones.
comes with flame maple back and sides paired with a spruce top, the new headstock, a gloss-finished three-piece, slim C-shape neck with a 16†radius ebony bound fretboard with pearl split-block inlays and 22 frets. Then it has a set of Grover 509 Super Rotomatic locking tuners, an aluminium Skyscrape truss rod cover with Whitfield’s signature and a TUSQ nut.
model has a Stairstep tailpiece and an ornate wood-panelled pickguard. Along with five-ply binding on the body and seven-ply on the headstock.

Featuring a fully hollow body and single Kent Armstrong "Jazzy Joe" floating mini-humbucker, the SS Soho offers warm, round low-end as well as an articulate mid-range perfect for dynamic lead-playing—and a slim C-shape neck and 16" fingerboard radius make faster lines effortless. Premium components such as Grover Super-Super-Rotomatic Locking tuners, Jescar fretwire, and a Stairstep tailpiece bring exceptional feel and timeless vibe. A laminated spruce top featuring a Dark Cherry Burst finish pays homage to Whitfield's all-time favorite jazz boxes while striking the balance between traditional and modern.
