The Bitters is a modern reimagining of the cult-favorite Alesis Bitrman, rebuilt as a versatile, hyper-creative multi-effects processor for guitar, bass, synths, drum machines, or studio setups. Featuring three effects in series—distortion, phaser, and a third user-selectable mode—the Bitters delivers everything from gritty modulation to full-on digital chaos. The third effect slot, dubbed “Bitters,” can be switched between four wild programs: Decimator (sample rate reduction), Bitcrusher (bit-depth reduction with noise gating), Frequency Modulation (pitch vibrato), and Ring Modulation (metallic tremolo-like mayhem).

Each effect is fully tweakable with dedicated knobs, and the order of the signal chain can be reversed for even more sonic exploration. The addition of a Mix control—absent from the original—makes blending dry and wet signals easy, giving you far more control over the intensity and clarity of your effects.
