The Chelsea is EarthQuaker Devices' tribute to a legendary fuzz pedal that became an essential piece of LCD Soundsystem’s sound. Originally picked up in a guitar shop in 1989, this one-of-a-kind unit earned a permanent place on stage and in the studio with James Murphy—thanks to its uncanny balance between heaviness and clarity, chaos and control. After decades of loyal service, it was simply too worn out to go on... but far too good to be retired. EarthQuaker Devices stepped in to capture its magic in a durable, road-ready format that stays true to every nuance of the original.

Designed in collaboration with Murphy himself, the Chelsea delivers the same iconic, expansive fuzz tones with a minimal and intuitive three-knob layout. The Sustain control provides everything from gritty overdrive to saturated distortion, while the Tone knob helps you shape the frequency response from bright and biting to deep and rumbling. Flip the Tone On/Off switch to bypass the EQ entirely and unleash raw, midrange-forward growl.
