The newly revived Wide Range pickup, powered by authentic CuNiFe magnets, brings back the distinctive, rich, and bell-like humbucking tones from over 40 years ago. Known for their "hi-fi" clarity and resilient attack, these pickups maintain their definition and dynamism under any level of strain. Featuring a chrome cover with a "3 3" pole piece design and the Fender logo, they embody the vintage '70s aesthetic perfectly. As the '70s began, with humbuckers dominating the scene, Fender enlisted renowned pickup designer Seth Lover to craft a high-output, dual-coil pickup with a unique Fender twist. The original Wide Range pickup, with its large bobbins and threaded CuNiFe-rod magnets, produced a sound that was distinctively bright and clear, becoming a staple in Telecaster® Custom, Thinline, and Deluxe models of that era. Widely sought after across various musical genres, the original CuNiFe-magnet pickups became rarities when the Telecaster Custom ceased production in 1979.
