Description

Hi Power by Crazy Tube Circuits is a meticulously crafted dual overdrive and amp-in-a-box pedal that captures the dynamic synergy of two British tone icons: the Colorsound Power Boost and the towering high-headroom Hiwatt amp. Inspired by the gear setups of legends like David Gilmour—especially his tones on Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here—Hi Power delivers a vast range of expressive, harmonically rich tones, from crystal-clear boost to crushing amp-like overdrive. The orange side of the pedal houses the Power Boost circuit, featuring NOS-spec BC184 transistors running internally at 18V for maximum headroom and clarity. A 2-band Baxandall EQ offers precise tone shaping, while a master volume and a toggle switch let you choose between the original Power Boost’s high-headroom voice or the lower-headroom grit of the later Overdriver models.

On the left side, the pedal recreates the bold, articulate sound of a vintage Hiwatt amp with impressive authenticity. The all-analog circuit offers a full EQ section, presence control, and a headroom switch that lets you toggle between a punchy 50W or expansive 100W feel. Additional switches allow players to select between the amp’s Normal, Bright, or linked channels—emulating the exact modifications used in Gilmour’s stage amps. Hi Power also includes a passive effects loop between its two sections, allowing you to insert additional pedals or use each side independently. From studio-level clean tones to soaring stadium crunch, Hi Power stands as a dream tool for tone chasers and rock historians alike.
