Description

The Guild M-20 holds a special place in guitar history, famously being the first model off the production line when Guild opened its Westerly, Rhode Island factory in 1967. Nearly five decades later, this cherished model is reborn in Guild’s state-of-the-art facility in California, maintaining its legacy with exceptional craftsmanship and timeless tone.

Crafted with a solid mahogany top, back, and sides, the M-20 delivers a warm, articulate voice with rich overtones and remarkable sustain. Its compact concert body size makes it incredibly comfortable to play, while its mellow tone and balanced projection have made it a favorite for fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters alike. It's affectionately known as the “Nick Drake guitar,” thanks to its appearance on the cover of Bryter Layter.

A rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, and ultra-thin satin finish allow the mahogany’s natural resonance to shine through with minimal restriction. Aesthetic appointments are kept elegantly understated with a vintage-style rosette and the Guild peak logo inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the headstock.

Each M-20 includes a hand-signed certificate of authenticity, and ships in a premium Guild hardshell case, ready for a lifetime of inspiring music.
