Earthquaker Devices Afterneath V3

The Afterneath is an otherworldly reverb pedal from EarthQuaker Devices that simulates a surreal, cavernous echo chamber made of shifting reflections and pulsing delay lines. Instead of traditional reverb, the Afterneath uses a swarm of short digital delays that can create everything from eerie ambience to scattered, rhythmic textures. Controls like Length, Diffuse, Dampen, Reflect, and Mix give you full control over decay, tone, feedback, and wet/dry balance, while Drag separates the delay lines for either tight reverbs or otherworldly ping-pong effects. The reverb never goes fully wet, but Mix lowers the input volume as you raise the effect for a nearly immersive wash.

The real magic lies in the Mode selector, which changes how the Drag control behaves, with 9 options ranging from smooth unquantized sweeps to musical scales and quantized volt/octave responses. When used with an expression pedal or CV, these modes offer rich pitch modulation and harmonic manipulation. The Afterneath also includes a buffered bypass with Flexi Switch technology for latching or momentary switching and offers tails or no-tails operation.
