Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani (of Chickenfoot fame) and the legendary Marshall have collaborated to create Joe’s ultimate guitar amplifier. The result is the JVM410HJS Joe Satriani Signature. This 4-channel all-tube head is based on the award-winning JVM410H. However, this version is fully customized and voiced to meet the specific requirements of the iconic guitar hero. The overdrive channels, OD1 and OD2, now feature a Mid Shift function for a more ‘scooped’ sound. Additionally, the reverb has been replaced with a switchable Noise Gate that can be set per channel. In short, what was already an excellent amplifier has now been perfected!

Features and Sounds of the Marshall JVM410HJS

Although it looks impressive with its 28 rotary knobs and 9 buttons, the Marshall JVM410HJS is surprisingly simple and intuitive to use. There are four channels - Clean, Crunch, OD1, and OD2 - each with individual controls for volume, bass, middle, treble, and gain. Additionally, each channel can be used in three modes: green, orange, and red, where green has the least distortion and red the most. In the master section, you will find Presence and Resonance controls for adjusting the highs and lows, and two switchable master volumes. This section also includes the Noise Gate controls for the four channels.

Multifunctional Footswitch

Similar to the JVM footcontroller, the one included with the JVM410HJS has two modes: Preset Store and Switch Store. In Preset Store mode, you can use each of the six buttons to store and recall the current button settings (push buttons) on the front panel. In other words, you can recall the channel and mode, Master volume, FX loop, Mid Shift (only for OD1 or OD2), and Noise Gate. In Switch Store mode, you can assign each of the six buttons to a push button on the front panel. Add to that the fact that the amplifier and foot pedal are connected with a standard guitar cable, and the possibilities are unprecedented… especially when MIDI is used!
