The Full Monty Humbucker (formerly known as the GT500) is a significantly beefed-up version of a classic humbucker, designed to be one of the most versatile humbuckers available. It can deliver an impressive range of tones, from sweet and bright cleans to powerful rock tones and everything in between.

This was actually the first pickup ever made by Monty’s, originally designed by Matt (the founder) for his own use in a covers band. The goal was to combine the deep, growling bass of a high-output humbucker with the complex mids and crystal-clear highs of a quality PAF. Many higher-output humbuckers either provide a nice bass response but thin treble, or thick treble with loose, muddy bass. This was seen as something that could be improved, and after much experimentation, the Full Monty was born.

The key to its success lies in drawing inspiration from vintage pickup designs. While the Full Monty is overwound, it's not as hot as some high-output humbuckers. It’s powerful enough to push your amp, but not so hot that it loses its tonal complexity. The use of 42-gauge wire and a traditional coil offset helps retain a lively top-end and dynamic response. The result is a pickup that is as dynamic, responsive, and clear as any quality low-output humbucker, while still providing the fatness of a higher-output model.
